Meadowbark Dinner Debate
Meadowbark is a natural dog food. A couple whispers over a bowl their picky dog refuses to touch, surrounded by eleven failed bags. The actors play a real relationship. Tired, fond, a little competitive, with the win landing quietly when the dog finally eats.

- NORA - 30s to 40s, female, practical, patient, the one who finally listened to the neighbor
- THEO - 30s to 40s, male, her partner, has bought every dog food on earth and defends each one
Setting
A cluttered kitchen with a tower of half used dog food bags on the counter and a patient dog just off camera.
A kitchen. On the counter, a tower of half used dog food bags. Eleven of them.
NORA and THEO stand facing a dog bowl on the floor. The dog, off camera, is not eating.
THEO
(whispering)
He's looking at it.
NORA
(whispering)
He looks at all of them.
THEO
This one had a duck on the bag.
NORA
The last one had a salmon on the bag. He doesn't read the bag, Theo.
A long pause. A soft, unimpressed dog sigh off camera.
THEO
(defeated)
That's eleven.
NORA
(kind, but done)
That's eleven.
She opens a cabinet. Pulls out a single bag of Meadowbark.
THEO
Where'd that come from.
NORA
Beth. Next door. She said quit overthinking it.
She pours. Beat. Off camera, the sound of a dog eating like it's never eaten before.
THEO
(quiet, stunned)
He's eating.
NORA
(softly)
He's eating.
THEO
(beat)
Should we tell the other eleven?
NORA picks up the Meadowbark bag and turns to camera.
NORA
(to camera, easy)
Meadowbark. Real chicken. Real vegetables. Nothing your dog wouldn't pick himself.
THEO
(to camera, still stunned)
He's still eating.

NORA
